Our privacy policy.

What we collect

When you sign up for Roam.li, we collect your email address and (optionally) your name and avatar — handled by Clerk, our authentication provider. When you create a trip, we store the trip details you enter: destinations, dates, travelers, preferences, and any bookings you add.

When you drop a pin on the iOS app, we store: the place name you typed (or chose from your itinerary), the geographic coordinates of that place (for the map), the photo you optionally attach, and any note you write. Coordinates come from your typed place name via Mapbox geocoding — we do not read your device's GPS, and we do not run in the background.

When you use the iOS app, we collect a push notification token from Apple so we can deliver friend-activity alerts. Tokens are tied to your account and erased on sign-out or account deletion.

We do not track you across the web. We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

How we use it

We use your email to send you trip-related notifications (e.g., a friend inviting you, a trip you shared) and occasional product updates. You can opt out of product emails at any time.

Your trip data is private by default. It only becomes visible to others when you explicitly toggle a trip to “public” or share its link. Pins inherit their own privacy setting (private, friends, public) chosen at drop-time.

Photos you attach to pins are served from a public-read bucket only by URL — there is no public listing of files. Anyone with the URL can view the photo, but URLs are emitted only inside surfaces that respect the pin's privacy setting.

Who we share it with

• Clerk — handles authentication and stores your email + profile.
• Supabase — stores your trips, pins, photos, follow relationships, and engagement.
• Mapbox — geocodes typed place names (destinations + pin places) into coordinates so we can show them on a map.
• Apple Push Notification service — delivers iOS push notifications via the Expo Push API. We send only the token, the message text, and a link target.
• Expo — operates the push delivery pipeline and the over-the-air update channel for the iOS app.
• Resend — delivers transactional email (invites, share links).
• Anthropic — generates AI itineraries from your trip brief. We do not send personal info.
• Vercel — hosts the web app and API.

That's the full list. No advertisers, no analytics resellers, no data brokers.

Your rights

You can delete your account at any time — from Profile → Delete account in the iOS app, or by emailing us. Deletion permanently removes your profile, trips, pins (and their photos), follows, saved trips, comments, and likes. It cannot be undone. We process the deletion immediately on receipt.

If you want a copy of your data first, email hello@roam-li.com and we'll send it before deleting.

Children

Roam.li is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email hello@roam-li.com and we will delete the account promptly.
